The Story: Where It All Began

From a treehouse restaurant to a mountain Cottage Stay, our journey started with a dream to capture Kilimanjaro’s beauty.

Mount Kilimanjaro 360 View Cottages is a locally owned boutique lodge, created with the vision of sharing the beauty of Kilimanjaro with travelers from around the world while remaining closely connected to the surrounding community and landscape. The journey began with a sunset tour bus then Maisha Khalisi Restaurant, an elevated treehouse-style structure built to capture the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Built in 2020, the restaurant quickly became a special gathering place for both local residents and visitors, with terraces overlooking Africa’s highest peak—perfect for watching unforgettable sunrises, sunsets, and moonlit nights.

Inspired by the peaceful hillside and the unique treehouse architecture, imagined and designed a place where guests could not only enjoy a meal but also stay and experience the landscape more deeply. Gradually, a small collection of eco-friendly cottages was added, allowing travelers to wake up surrounded by gardens, coffee farms, and the presence of Mount Kilimanjaro. Respect for nature and local craftsmanship has guided the development of the property. Natural materials and reclaimed tree trunks damaged by termites were thoughtfully restored and incorporated into the design, reflecting a philosophy that values sustainability, creativity, and harmony with the environment.

Today, Mount Kilimanjaro 360 View Cottages remains a locally owned stay, welcoming guests to experience the calm rhythm of life beneath the slopes of Kilimanjaro while enjoying authentic hospitality rooted in the community.

Our Philosophy

Nature, Sustainability, Authentic Hospitality

At Mount Kilimanjaro 360 View Cottages, our philosophy is simple: to offer a peaceful place where guests can experience the beauty of Kilimanjaro while remaining connected to nature, local culture, and authentic hospitality.

We believe that travel should feel personal and meaningful. As a locally owned, we aim to create an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed not just as visitors, but as part of the rhythm of life in the Kilimanjaro region.

Our approach focuses on three guiding principles:

The cottages are designed to blend with the surrounding landscape of gardens, coffee farms, and hillside views. Natural light, fresh mountain air, and the presence of Mount Kilimanjaro are part of the everyday experience.

Where possible, we incorporate reclaimed materials and natural elements into the architecture, preserving the character of the land while minimizing environmental impact.

Being locally owned means our story is rooted in the community around us. We are proud to share the culture, traditions, and everyday life of the Kilimanjaro region with guests from around the world.

Our goal is to offer more than a place to stay — we hope to create a setting where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the quiet beauty that makes this part of Tanzania so special.

Community Involvement

From a treehouse restaurant to a mountain Cottage Stay, our journey started with a dream to capture Kilimanjaro’s beauty.

By staying with us, guests also contribute to supporting these community initiatives. Supporting Our Community

At Mount Kilimanjaro 360 View Cottages, we believe tourism should contribute positively to the communities around us. As a locally owned property, we are committed to supporting education and opportunities for young people. We assist schools in need through projects such as building and renovating classrooms, improving school facilities including toilets and kitchens, and providing essential support such as food supplies, stationery, and school uniforms for students.

A portion of our profits is dedicated to supporting these initiatives and helping create better learning environments for future generations. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute in a meaningful way to the growth and well-being of communities across the region.

“We loved this lodge. The rooms are decorated with charm and attention to detail in African style. The hosts welcomed us personally and showed everything, true hosts!! The food was delicious and nicely arranged. Great cocktail and also wine selection (even really cold white wine). ”
