Safari Option 1: Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is well known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and beautiful open savannah landscapes. During the game drive, guests may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, lions, and a wide variety of bird species.

A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park before continuing the afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, you return to Moshi.

Tarangire is one of the best day trip safari options from Moshi.

Safari Option 2: Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park offers diverse landscapes including forests, acacia woodland, and the alkaline lake shoreline. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, hippos, flamingos, and large troops of baboons.

During the game drive, guests may also see elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and numerous bird species. A picnic lunch is served inside the park before returning to Moshi in the evening.

Safari Option 3: Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is a smaller but scenic park located closer to Moshi and Arusha. The park features crater lakes, swamps, forests, and open plains with views of Mount Meru.

Wildlife sightings may include giraffes, zebras, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and a wide variety of birds. This park is ideal for travelers who prefer a shorter and more relaxed safari experience.

Return to Moshi by late afternoon.

Safari Option 4: Ngorongoro Crater (Long Day Trip)

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations in Africa and is known as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

Descend into the crater for a game drive where it is possible to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—along with zebras, wildebeest, flamingos, and many other species.

Because of the distance from Moshi, this safari requires an early departure and a long but rewarding day of travel.
